ARGLP gets grant for food, medical services

WESTBROOK — Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation has awarded the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland a $500 grant through its Community Spirit 9/11  program.

Jacqueline Harrington, an employee of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, nominated the organization for the award. Funds will be used to provide shelter, food and medical services to animals in need.

To commemorate Harvard Pilgrim members who lost their lives on 9/11 , Harvard Pilgrim and the foundation created the mini-grant program to allow each Harvard Pilgrim employee to award a $500 grant to a local charity each  year. Since 2002, Harvard Pilgrim employees have directed more than $5.7 million to thousands of organizations throughout Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts and New Hampshire..”
