GRAY—The Patriots doubled up on visiting Erskine on Tuesday afternoon, dispatching the Eagles 12-6. Andrew Lacerda led the G-NG attack with five goals and a trio of assists, while standout keeper Brannon Gilbert turned in 14 saves.

Beyond Lacerda’s impressive offensive output, Kyle Mercier added four goals. Shayne Splint kicked in a goal and three assists, Scott Lynch and Lawson Dunford a goal and an assist apiece, and Jeremy Mazur an assist. Hunter Brown won nine of the 14 faceoffs he took.

Impressively, it’s only G-NG’s first season as a varsity program. The team went 6-6 across their regular schedule to enter the bracketing ranked eighth in Class C and earn homefield advantage vs. Erskine in the quarterfinals. They travel to No. 1 NYA on Thursday, June 7 for the semis.
