The Buxton Board of Selectmen, at town meeting on June 18, recognized Town Clerk John Myers for his 30 years of service to the town.
On behalf of the board, Cliff Emery presented Myers with a framed certificate for his “dedicated service.”
Buxton Town Clerk John Myers has announced three vacancies on boards: a director of Maine School Administrative District 6, a Planning Board member and a Budget Committee member. Each is for a one-year term.
Myers said notice of interest should be received by the Board of Selectmen by Wednesday, July 6, in town hall, 185 Portland Road.
Dorcas car show signup
Vintage car owners can display their treasures in the second annual Dorcas Cars and Coffee Show at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 20, at the Brewster Mansion at Tory Hill, intersection of routes 202 and 112, in Buxton.
Proceeds of the car show, sponsored by the Dorcas Society of Hollis & Buxton, benefit Buxton and Hollis charities.
Features include a 50/50 raffle and lunch will be available. The event includes complimentary coffee for participants and spaces are free of charge but limited.
