Rudolph and Luebelle Harmon, grandparents of Town Clerk John Myers, donated the uniform to the society. The United States entered the war 100 years ago in April.

Historical society closed Saturday

The Buxton-Hollis Historical Society headquarters and reserach center, 100 Main St. (Route 4A) will be closed Saturday, May 27, in observance of the Memorial Day weekend.

The usual hours are 4-8 p.m. on Thursdays and 9 a.m.-noon on Saturdays with the exception of holiday weekends and special events. For more information, visit www.bustonhollishistorical.org.
