Dorcas fest reminder

The annual fest sponsored by the Dorcas Society of Hollis and Buxton is set for Saturday, Aug. 5, at the Brewster Mansion, Tory Hill, intersection of routes 202 and 112.

Highlights include a free car show at 9a.m.; open grounds and barn, Ghost of Revere Concert at 6 p.m., and community fireworks sponsored by the Narragansett No. One Foundation at dusk.

The mansion was built in 1805 by Dr. Royal Brewster.

Food mobile visit

The Good Shepard Food Mobile will be at the corner of Haines Meadow and Long Plains roads 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 3. Food will be available while supplies last.

Anyone in need of food assistance is eligible. Those participating are asked to their own bags or boxes.

Library director sought

Berry Memorial Library in Bar Mills is accepting applications until Friday, Aug. 4, for a part-time director.

The position is a six-hour per week, paid position that includes evening and Saturday coverage.
