Buxton Town Clerk John Myers has announced that nomination papers for several elected positions in June are now available.
The posts available include one three-year selectmen’s term.The term expiring is that of Chad Poitras, now vice chairman of the board.
Other openings include two Planning Board members, three years; one Planning Board member, one year; and two Budget Committee members, three years.
All candidate nomination papers must be filed in the Town Clerk’s Office by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, April 13.
The annual municipal secret ballot election is set for 6 a.m.- 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12, in the Town Hall, 185 Portland Road. Myers said the polls will also be open for the state of Maine primary and referendum, the MSAD 6 District budget validation referendum and the MSAD 6 District directors election.
The annual town meeting will be at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, and residents must be present to vote on articles.
