Caring Community appreciative

The Caring Community of GNG would like to express sincere gratitude and appreciation for all those who helped, in many ways, to provide Thanksgiving food baskets to 85 families and individuals in our community. Because of your generosity 374 people (190 adults and 174 children) in Gray and New Gloucester enjoyed a Thanksgiving meal.

A huge thank you goes out to the many families, individuals, businesses, churches and groups who sponsored families or or made donations to make the Thanksgiving food baskets possible: GNG National Junior Honor Society (20 food baskets), Boy Scout Troop 86, Latter Day Saints, Eastern Star, GNGHS Community Service Club, Good Shepherd Church, New Gloucester Eagles, Tender Hearts Family Child Care, Optimist Club (14 families), Avangrid, OTT Communications, St Gregory Church, Gray Congregational Church, Elisabeth Hardcastle, Jon Hedman, Liz and Katie Gill, Sandra Miller, Lila Littlefield, John Stults, Ruth Ann and Roger Abbott, Robin Googins, Nancy Seliga, Missy Lyon … and thank you to the Curico, Bedard, Hebert, Chase, O’Brien, Richard, and Bibber families.

The Caring Community of GNG is currently preparing for Christmas and is in dire need of monetary donations as well as individuals, groups or businesses to sponsor an individual or family for Christmas. We always have more applications requesting holiday assistance than we have sponsors, and money is always a challenge, too, to cover the cost of Christmas meals and gifts for children birth to 18 that the CCGNG provides.

For more information, contact Christina Foster at 233-0828 or at To sponsor a family, contact Mike Marcotte at

Donations, which are so appreciated and greatly needed, can be sent directly to CCGNG, P.O. Box 1244, Gray, ME 04039.

Thank you for helping your neighbors in need this holiday season.
