WINDHAM — Police are advising Chute Road area residents that the road will be limited to one way traffic on Sunday, March 25 as part of Maine Maple Sunday.
A notice from the Windham Police Department says that all vehicle traffic on Chute Road must enter from River Road and exit via the intersection of Webb Road and Montgomery Road between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Sunday.
“This decision was made to better facilitate the flow of heavy traffic that occurs during the Maine Maple Sunday event and to allow a safer means of getting emergency vehicles into the area if they are needed,” according to the police notice. We are asking residents of Chute Road and side streets off this section of Chute Road, to be prepared to enter and exit this area between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. using this one-way traffic flow.”
Police also say that Nash road residents will see increased traffic on Sunday but that no traffic flow change is currently planned for that road.
