South Portland War Veteran’s Memorial Association, which consists of VFW Post 832 and American Legion Post 35, will be gathering at VFW Post 832 on 50 Peary Terrace at 9 a.m. to flag their five cemeteries. All volunteers are welcome. 767-2575 or 799-3997.

Monday, May 27

South Portland Memorial Day parade, starting at 10:30 a.m. at Southern Maine Community College at the end of Broadway and continuing down Broadway past Pratt Abbott to the Veteran’s Memorial Monument. There will be a short ceremony after the parade. At noon, there will be a wreath laying ceremony at the public boat landing.

Memorial Day kids road race, 9 a.m. in parking lot of Scarborough High School, down Route 1 to Maine Veterans Home for half-mile, back for full mile. $5. 883-4167 or
