Senior center hosting health course
This fall, Lakes Region Senior Center, 40 Acorn St., will present a course, “Living Well for Better Health.”
This course is sponsored by SMAA and will be held on six Monday mornings beginning Sept. 18.
“It is especially geared towards seniors who are dealing with ongoing health conditions,” a Senior Center announcement said. “Our instructor is one who has lived with diabetes for a long time.”
The course is free, unless you wish to keep the book permanently for $15. Space is limited, so call Blanche at 892-5604, if you would like to be included and the public is invited to participate.
Don Campbell in concert
The Don Campbell Band will entertain from 6-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18, at the gazebo on the lawn at the municipal center, 75 South St.
The concert is free and parking is available along South Street and in the municipal lot off Ballpark Road. In the event of rain, the concert will move inside to the Shaw Gym at the Recreation Department.
Those attending are welcome to take a lawn chair or blanket. The summer concert series continues through Aug. 8.
The classes of 1970 through 1976 will reunite on Saturday, Aug. 5, at Fireside Inn on Riverside Street, Portland.
A cocktail hour from 6-7 p.m. will precede dinner and dancing until 11 p.m. The cost is $55 per person.
