The Raymond-Casco Historical Society will celebrate its 45th anniversary Saturday, Aug. 13.
From 1-3 p.m., members of the historical society will offer tours of the museum in the barn on Route 302, according to a press release from the historical society. The bright red barn features a massive mural depicting scenes of the area.
They will also offer tours of the agriculture barn and a vintage car collection owned by Skip Watkins, which are in separate facilities adjacent to the main barn.
Light refreshments will be served.
Members will welcome suggestions for the future of the historical society during the event.
While the historical society has been in the business of preserving the region’s history since 1971, the group has owned and operated the barn since 2008.
Pam Grant, a member of the society for roughly a decade, said she is “proud of everybody who volunteers their time to (the society)” and who have contributed to the society’s museum and collection in the past six years.
