Members of the GNG Middle School National Junior Honor Society donated 20  Thanksgiving food baskets to Caring Community of Gray New Gloucester for distribution. Members of the NJHS organized a food drive at the middle school and also held several fundraisers so gift certificates for turkeys could be included.

Shoebox giving time

Gray Rec is accepting donations until noon Friday, Dec. 15, at the Pennell Town Hall. Empty pre-wrapped boxes or gift bags are available at the rec office and Gray Town Hall to be filled with small gifts for children. The Annual Gingerbread House Event at Gray Public Library will be held on Saturday, Dec. 2, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Free tickets are available at the library and are strongly recommended. Sponsored by the Gray Public Library Association.

The GPL Annual Holiday Ukulele Concert and Sing-along is Thursday, Dec. 14, at 6:30 p.m. featuring the Sebago Lake Ukulele Society. Donations of non-perishable food items for the local food pantry are encouraged.

Legion’s Christmas Gathering

Christmas Gathering with The Doug Morgan Band will be on Saturday, Dec. 9, at 6 p.m. A Christmas potluck in the canteen will be followed by a musical performance by Doug Morgan. Doug brings his experimental sounds along with his lengthy mix of rock, funk and soul. Come join them for food, dancing, and a little liquid Christmas cheer. Hosted by The American Legion Post 86, 15 Lewiston Road, Gray.

‘Lion King Jr.’ auditions

“Lion King Jr.” auditions will be held Saturday, Dec. 2, at Fiddlehead Art and Science Center, 25 Shaker Road for ages 4-16. See  www.fiddleheadcenter.org/childrens-theater.html or 657-2244 for more information.

Child care available 

“It’s a Winter Wonderland,” child care for ages 4-12 in pre-K to grade 6, will be offered on Friday, Dec. 15, from 5:30-9 p.m. at the Newbegin Community Center Recreation Room.
