Got talent? Get your audition ready
Hard to believe this fun event is in its fourth year. Why not try something new? Take a walk on the wild side and audition. The auditions are open to all ages, individuals, groups, amateurs or anyone who is not primarily a professional performer. You may only audition one act. Performers will be judged by professionals, receive helpful advice and be voted on by judges and a live audience. The shows will be taped and shown on LRTV.
Auditions will be held 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at Lake Region High School and 3-5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, and 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, at Center Stage Dane Studio, 1233 Roosevelt Trail in Raymond. Auditions are mandatory, and performer must provide all necessary accompaniments. There will be a sound system available for ipods, iphones, CD and MP3 players also. There is a one time $15 audition fee. Performance dates are Jan. 8, 15 and 22, with the Finale on Jan. 29. For more information, call Lew at 838-3846.
American Legion Post 155 hosted a lovely tribute to our veterans this past Veteran’s Day. The Lake Region High School Band played patriotic favorites. A big thank you goes out to Dr. Paul Greenstone, Lake Region High School Band director, for always making sure the kids are ready to perform at important community events like this.

Peter Rabbit field trip
On Wednesday Nov. 9, Peter Rabbit Preschool of Naples, took a trip to the Naples Fire Station. Firefighter Jeff Lake did a great job teaching the kids fire safety, then gave them all a tour of the fire station. He taught the kids about “stop, drop and roll,” that they should “crawl low and go” under smoke, and that they should not look for their parents if there were a fire, but instead yell out to tell their parents they are going outside to their meeting place. Fireflighter Jeff also put on all his protective gear to show them what a firefighter looks like when all dressed for a fire so that they wouldn’t be afraid if they had to be rescued. The kids had a great time and learned a lot.
Lions Club Student of Month
Congrats to Meghan Boos on being selected the Lions Club Student of the Month! I have known Meghan since she was a baby. Her family is one of the nicest families around. Congrats on some well-deserved recognition.
The American Legion Post 155 and the Town of Naples honor local veterans at a special Veteran’s Day ceremony. The Lake Region High School Band provided music for the event.
