Dog park update
The Dog Park Ad Hoc Committee, focused on planning and fundraising efforts for a new dog park, is seeking representatives. The next meeting will be held Monday, Sept. 24, at 6 p.m. at the Municipal Center.

A fundraiser for the dog park will be held at Papa’s Ice Cream on Sunday, Sept. 9.
All doggie dish ice cream sales for the day will go toward the dog park fund.

Kids harvest
One-day gardening programs for k-5 students will be held at Richville Library during September. Students will harvest crops grown over the summer, be read a story by the librarian and more.

Sessions will be held from 3:30-4-45 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 10, Sept. 17 and Sept. 24. Transportation will be provided from George E. Jack School. Students should wear clothes that can get dirty. Each session will cost $10 per student. For more

PTO meeting
The Standish Parent Teacher Organization will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesdy, Sept. 12, at the Edna Libby Elementary School library. Fundraisers, the budget, volunteer opportunities and other topics will be discussed. For more information, visit the Standish PTO Facebook page.

Trip to the woods
Standish Parks and Recreation is offering a trip for seniors to the North Falmouth
Community Woods on Sept. 17. The walk through the park will involve easy-to-moderate hiking opportunities across two to three miles of gravel or uneven terrain.

The group will leave Standish Municipal Center at 9 a.m. The trip will cost $5 per person. For more information and to register, visit

Vinyasa yoga
A six-week, all-ages Vinyasa yoga class will be held at the Standish Council Chambers on Fridays at 6:30 p.m. beginning Sept. 21.

The program is open to all, with exercise modifications available for any skill level. Participants are asked to bring two yoga blocks, a yoga strap, and a blanket or bolster. The fee is $54 for the full six-week session or $12 for a single class. For more information and to register, visit
