St. Ann’s Episcopal Church will host a community celebration from 1-5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9. There will be a bounce house, face painting, food, music and starting at 3 p.m., animals from Sparks Ark.
This is an all-ages, free event and everyone is welcome. The church is located at 40 Windham Center Road.
Try out for comedy
Windham Center State Theater has scheduled auditions for “Lend Me A Tenor,” a comedy set in 1934 involving mishaps, mistakes and mistaken identities. There are roles for men and women. The show will be performed in December.
Come prepared with a short comedic monologue or a joke to tell from 4-6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, or 4-7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, at the theater, 8 School Road at Windham Town Hall.

Veterans Coffee Social
The Field-Allen Post hosts a Coffee Social each Wednesday. This drop-in program for veterans is held from 9-11 a.m. at the Windham Veterans Center. This is a great opportunity for local vets to socialize in a low-key environment and exchange views with members of the vet community. Coffee and donuts are provided. A donation of non-perishable food goods is welcome and food items are collected for the Area Homeless Veterans.
Monthly Legion meeting
American Legion Field-Allen Post 148 will conduct its monthly membership meeting Wednesday, Sept. 6, at the Windham Veterans Center. A 5 p.m. social and dinner will be followed by the meeting at 5:30 p.m. business meeting.
Windham Center Stage will hold auditions for its December play, “Lend Me a Tenor,” on Sept. 9-10.
