Blood donations needed
The harsh winter weather and this year’s severe flu season have left the Red Cross with a shortage of blood for people in need. Blood and platelet donations are necessary to ensure that hospital patients can continue to receive life-saving treatments. If you’d like to donate blood for this important cause, you can visit the North Windham Union Church at 723 Roosevelt Trail on Wednesday, February 28 from 1 to 6 p.m. 

Grief support group
For those struggling with the loss of a loved one, VNA Home Health Hospice is offering an open grief support meeting where you can discuss your feelings with other people in similar situations. The group will meet on Monday, March 12 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the North Windham Union Church located at 723 Roosevelt Trail. Free tech help

If you need a bit of help mastering computer skills, you can get some friendly, expert advice at the Windham Public Library, 217 Windham Center Road. Every Thursday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., there are people on hand who can offer assistance with a number of computer programs. Call the Library at 892-1908 for more details.

Cancer support group 
The Windham Cancer Support Group will be meeting at a new location while the Library is undergoing renovations. The next meeting will be on Monday, February 26 at Windham Town Hall, 8 School Road. The group will meet in the large conference room next to the Town Manager’s office from 6:30 to 8 p.m. All cancer patients, caregivers, and survivors are invited to attend.

Historical society board meeting
The Windham Historical Society will have a Board Meeting on Tuesday, March 6 at 6:30 p.m. at the Society Headquarters, 234 Windham Center Road. Society members and people interested in joining are always welcome to attend. Come and hear about plans for the coming year or to help offer suggestions and ideas. American Legion membership meeting
The American Legion Field-Allen Post 148 is holding its monthly membership meeting on Wednesday, March 7 at the Windham Veterans Center. This is an important meeting as it is a Post Officer nomination meeting for 2018-2019. The night starts off with a social at 5 p.m. and the Post meeting will follow.
