MPTC Member Spotlight: Arren Rawson


My Place Teen Center has chosen Arren Rawson as its May Member Spotlight. Member Spotlight is an opportunity for My Place Teen Center teens to be recognized by staff and their peers for their contributions to the My Place community. The staff selected Arren because he has had a great attitude during the last month and is avibrant member of the MPTC community. He is talkative and interactive with his peers. Here are a few questions he answered about himself.

Q: What grade are you in?

A: I am in the ninth-grade class at Westbrook High School. We don’t really have homerooms, but I spend most of my time with Ms. Presley or Ms. St. Peter.

Q: What is your favorite class?

A: I like gym. Most of my friends are in my class.

Q: How long have you lived in Westbrook?

A: I have been in Westbrook since April of 2011. We moved here from Marlboro, Mass. I live with my father and grandmother.

Q: Do you have any siblings?

A: Yes, I have two younger brothers.

Q: How long have you been coming to the teen center?

A: About four years, just after I moved to Westbrook. I first came in that April break. I met one of my very good friends here that week and we have been friends ever since.

Q: What are your favorite things to do at the teen center?

A: I like playing games – video games or sports games.

Q: What are your favorite things to do in your free time?

A: I like to hang out with my friends and play video games.

Q: How would you describe yourself?

A: I am very loyal to my friends and to the people I care about. If I care about you, you are family to me.

Q: What are you looking forward to?

A: I am really looking forward to summer. I really want to go to Funtown.
