Public harvest supper
The North Pownal United Methodist Church on Lawrence Road will be holding a public harvest supper on Saturday, Oct. 13, from 4:30-6 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults, $3 for children and kids under 2 are free. For more information, call the Rev. Raymond St. Pierre at 798-4810 or 837-0682.
The Pownal Board of Selectmen have set its schedule of meetings for the rest of the year. The selectmen will meet on Monday, Oct. 15, Monday, Oct. 29, Monday, Nov. 12, Monday, Nov. 26, Monday, Dec. 10 and Monday, Dec. 17. All meetings will be held in the DeWirtt Room of Mallett Hall at 7 p.m.
The Pownal Board of Appeals will hold a meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 16, at 7 p.m., in Mallett Hall to consider the application for a waiver to build an attached garage that does not meet 25-foot side yard setback requirements, received from Lynda and Dean Simmons of 308 Hallowell Road. On Tuesday, Oct. 23, the Appeals Board will meet once again at 7 p.m. in Mallett Hall to consider the application for a waiver to convert a portion of an unattached barn into an apartment, received from Michael Albert of 400 Hodsdon Road. The Pownal Planning Board will be holding a workshop meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 23 from 8-9:30 a.m. in Mallett Hall to continue its review of the town’s ordinance draft.

Food pantry open on Tuesdays
The North Pownal United Methodist Church on Lawrence Road is open every Tuesday from 10:30 a.m.- noon. Volunteers never know from week to week what will be available, but the pantry usually gets different kinds of breads, produce, desserts, etc. All are welcome.
