Nonfiction/Classics Reading Group

The book to be discussed by this group is “All Quiet on the Western Front,” written by Erich Maria Remarque in 1929.

Serving as a young man in the German army during World War I, Erich Maria Remarque (1898-1970) survived, determined to write about the horrors of war. An anti-war book, “All Quiet on the Western Front” has been called the “greatest war novel of all time.” Interested readers are invited to join us in what is sure to be a fascinating discussion. For more information, call Al at 655-4548.

Book Group

The reading group will meet on Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. at the library. The book chosen for discussion is “Apologizing to Dogs” by Joe Coomer. All those interested in reading this book are invited to come and join in the discussion.

Each year we ask for donations of goodies for “trick-or-treaters” in the Raymond Village area. Residents in this area receive up to 300 children on Halloween and the library tries to help out with treats. Once again we ask our generous patrons to donate whatever goodies they can to appease the “little goblins.” Bring in your donations to the library where they will be gratefully accepted. Remember Halloween is Wednesday, Oct. 31!

PJ Story Time
