STANDISH — The Saint Joseph’s Political Science Club will be hosting a forum in April with five of the Republican candidates for governor.
According to a press release from the Standish Republican Town Committee, candidates Ken Fredette of Newport, Garrett Mason of Lisbon, Mary Mayhew of China, Shawn Moody of Gorham, and Mike Thibodeau of Winterport are currently scheduled to participate.
The forum, which is free and open to the public, will be held on Wednesday, April 25 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of the college’s Alfond Hall.
Maine Heritage Policy Center CEO and Director Matthew Gagnon will moderate the discussion, which will also provide an opportunity for members of the public to ask questions.
Fredette is the Republican Minority Leader in the Maine House of Representatives. Mason is the Republican Majority Leader in the Maine Senate. Mayhew is a former Commissioner of the Maine Department of Health and Human Services under Governor Paul LePage. Moody is a businessman who ran for governor in 2010 as an independent. Thibodeau is the President of the Maine Senate.
