Scarborough girls advance to soccer Regional Final

Scarborough's Ashley Perriello boots the ball ahead vs. Windham on Saturday.

No. 2 Scarborough ousted No. 6 Windham from playoffs contention on a pair of Leah Dickman goals on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 29. Dickman struck twice in the first half while her teammates on defense held the Eagles silent, giving the Storm a solid, if not insurmountable, lead at the break. The teams tied each other up in the second half, however, with neither outfit managing to light the proverbial lamp. Scarborough thus took the semifinal bout 2-0.

The result, which played out on the Storm’s home turf, bumped them to 12-2-2 on the season and earned them a spot in the Regional Final. That matchup, at No. 1 Gorham, took place on Wednesday night, Nov. 2, after the Current’s print deadline.
