Together Days returns to park June 3-4

Westbrook's Riverbank Park will be crowded again next weekend for Together Days.

Westbrook Together Days, the annual community event that attracts thousands of people to downtown Westbrook, will return June 3-4.

Now in its 37th year, the festival will feature all of its most well-known events, with a parade, all-day live music, a live auction and fireworks – but it will also boast some fresh attractions, including a human foosball tournament.

The festival kicks off in Riverbank Park on Friday, June 3,  at 5 p.m., with live entertainment and the carnival, with rides, games and food, opening to the public.

On Saturday, mainstays like the Boy Scouts’ annual pancake breakfast, under a tent in the park, will jumpstart the day. At 10 a.m., the annual Together Days parade will take over Bridge and Main streets. This year’s theme is community volunteerism, and will have four co-grand marshals – Ann Bitner, Louie Lampron, Rick Knight, and George Apt.

The human foosball game is organized by Prides Corner Congregational Church. Also new are a special historical display by Sappi Fine Paper, and a “What’s Happening in Westbrook” tent, bringing together city organizations like the Cornelia Warren Community Association, the Downtown Westbrook Coalition and Westbrook Arts & Culture.

Together Days began in the late 1970s as a brainchild of the Westbrook Women’s Club, and is now the largest annual event put together by the Westbrook/Gorham Community Chamber.
