Volk is respected, respectful

I am writing to voice my support for Senator Amy Volk in her bid to be re-elected to the Maine State Senate in District 30 (Buxton, Gorham and Scarborough).

Volk has been recognized for her commitment and willingness to work cooperatively with her colleagues, being named one of the most bipartisan legislators in Augusta by the non-partisan Sunlight Foundation in 2014. While attending a session in Augusta last spring, I spoke with representatives as well as senators I have known over the years from both sides of the aisle, who affirmed their respect for her and for the work she has done.

In the two years she has represented District 30, she has demonstrated her ability to achieve results, helping to reform worker’s compensation laws, working to create a means to improve economic development programs, being lead co-sponsor of the bill to allow charter schools and acting as a strong advocate for legislation to help victims of sex trafficking. As chair of the Labor, Commerce, Research and Economic Development Committee, she plays an important role overseeing the work of the Department of Labor and the Department of Economic Development.

She is passionate about her representation for all constituents in District 30. She has a strong family here in Scarborough as well as in Central Maine and understands Maine values. Bottom line is that she is an authentic individual who represents her constituents in a meaningful and respectful manner. I encourage voters in District 30 to return Amy to Augusta.
