Rev. DeLong retires

The Rev. Edward W. DeLong has retired after 18 years as pastor of the Westbrook-Warren Congregational Church.

“He and his wife Deb, and their kids, Peter and Jocelyn, were vital members of this congregation,” the church announced in a statement online.  “We hated to see them go, but we wish them well in retirement.”

For July and August, the Rev. Leslie Foley will provide pastoral care, such as sick visits, funerals and counseling. Sunday worship is being planned by various lay people and guest pastors. The church hopes to have an interim minister by this fall to guide it through the search process for its next settled pastor.

For more information, call the church at 854-9157.
