On the 17th anniversary of the Sept.11 attacks, Westbrook-Gorham Rotary welcomed Sgt. First Class Scott Hamilton of the Maine Army National Guard’s 262nd Engineer Company, located across from Westbrook High School. Rotarian and Navy Reserve Commander Phil Spiller, left, introduced Hamilton, briefly describing his own overseas experience with the U.S. Navy on the day of the largest attack on U.S. soil since Pearl Harbor in 1941.

The Jim Foye Memorial Golf Tournament at Gorham Country Club drew 36 teams with 144 golfers.
In the A Flight, the winners were Brent Hamilton, Bruce Hamilton, Joe Hamilton and Adam Hamilton.
Finishing first in the B Flight were Anthony Amico, Malcolm Noyes, Isaac Noyes and Marc Poulin.
Topping the C Flight were Jeremy Ray, Matt Nelson, Jeremie Sirois and Jeremy Goulet.
In the D Flight, the winners were Scott Chadbum, Greg Anson, Joe Larose and Paul Fecteau.
The tournament benefits the Jim Foye Memorial scholarship fund which has awarded $30,000 in scholarships to 36 Westbrook High School graduates, assists youth sports and Boy Scouts, aids needy citizens, and helps needy families at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
