Devyn Rogers has been sworn as the 27th full-time officer with the Windham Police Department.

Rogers, 27, of Yarmouth, has an associate’s degree in Criminal Justice from Norwich University and is currently enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps reserve. Most recently he was employed as a corrections officer at the Cumberland County Jail.

Before startin full-time as an officer, Rogers will complete roughly four months of basic training at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy and three months of a field training program.

Rogers was selected from a pool of 17 applicants, according to Chief Kevin Schofield. He stood out for “his educational background, military experience and brief exposure to the corrections field, as well as the significant positive feedback during the background investigation process,” Schofield said.
