Wormwood joins Windham lumber company

Maine lumber industry veteran Ron Wormwood has joined Lavalley Lumber as the Windham location manager.

Wormwood has worked in the Greater Portland building materials business more than 40 years.

“I started when I was 19, as a delivery driver’s helper, and still learn something new about this business every day,” Wormwood said. “I thought I had retired, but the opportunity at Lavalley Lumber is so attractive and exciting, I couldn’t refuse.”

Lavalley CEO Don Collins said of Wormwood’s hiring, “Ron adds a level of experience to our company that will extend far beyond Windham. We expect that his operations expertise will upgrade customer service at all of our Lavalley Lumber and Poole Brothers facilities.”

Lavalley Lumber Company LLC owns and operates the Lavalley Sawmill in Sanford, producing Lavalley Pine; three Lavalley Lumber yards in Sanford, Springvale and Windham; and three Poole Brothers Lumber locations in Damariscotta, Boothbay Harbor and Pemaquid. This Maine-owned company employs approximately 260 people.
